Riding in tandem has taken its own meaning in Filipino English: It is used as a noun to refer to crimes perpetrated by more than one person, usually two men, on a motorcycle. The crimes range from snatching to murders, the killings motivated by anything from extramarital affairs to political rubouts.
Valenzuela City is one of the safest cities in the Philippines. Crime Index, the website says, is an estimation of the overall level of crime in a given city or a country. Numbeo considers crime levels between 20 and 40 as being low. On the other hand, cities with higher safety indexes are considered safer. But even though it was named one of the safest cities in the Philippines, it is not enough to say it was safe on the eye of riding in tandem.
