Willie Revillame Got Stuck in Puerto Galera and Helped the Residents Living There

Puerto Galera has been hit hard by the travel restrictions imposed to restrain the spread of the pandemic disease (COVID-19). Fortunately, Willie Revillame was stock their and without thinking or two, Willie extended his help to the residents. According to Cata Tibayan's report for "24 Oras," the Wowowin host was not able to return to Metro Manila and chose to stay in his resort in the popular tourist destination.

"Napag-alaman ko na bawal sila sa palengke, dahil una wala silang transportasyon, bawal ding lumabas," he said. "Isa lang ang kailangan eh wala silang sasakyan, walang tricycle."- Kuya Wil's statement. Together with volunteers, Kuya Wil sent 40 sacks of rice, along with boxes of noodles and water, to help those who suddenly found themselves out of jobs.

They used Willie's speedboat to help the transport of goods in different parts of Puerto Galera. "Ito kahit papaano maliit na bagay lang, sa isang araw, dalawang araw, nakatulong tayo sa kanila," Willie said. Willie encouraged everyone to stay home to avoid catching and spreading the virus.

"Ako'y tuwang tuwa po sa inyo at hindi po namin akalain na kami ay bibigyan nyo ng ganyan," a resident told Willie. "Sana matapos na po ito para hindi nag-su-suffer tayong lahat, hindi tayo nahihirapan," he said.
