This Construction Worker Always Spend At Night In a Subway To Use Free Wi-Fi And Talk To His Family


A Chinese migrant worker named Ge Yuangzheng had to leave his family in Henan Province in central China to work as a construction worker in Shanghai. He only earns 200-300 yuan ($30-$45) a day as a construction worker.

Having a very tight budget, he lives with his co-workers in a bare dormitory and would rather save whatever he has for his family than spending it for anything.

"I don't want to spend money, but I miss home and want to talk to my family," said Ge from the South China Morning Post.

A pedestrian saw him calling his family at the station and snapped a photo, sharing it online. The said photo immediately went viral on social media and earned sympathy for netizens. The man usually calls from 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM.

It turned out that his wife had no idea of the effort her husband just to talk to them. The wife also making adjustments on her side by using her neighbor's Wi-Fi connection just to talk to her husband.

Ge is planning to go home to Henan for the Chinese New Year and give his wife a new phone.

The couple has two children, a son who already has a job and a daughter studying nursing with a tuition fee of 30,000 yuan ($4,646) a year.
